Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What kind of equipment do you use?

A: I shoot with Canon 5D Mkii, and a range of  Canon lenses.

Q: Do you do weddings?

A: Yes. Sort of. Very small intimate, itty bitty weddings. Please message me at tesssmithphotography@yahoo.com for more information regarding weddings.

Q: How many photos will I receive on my disc of High Resolution Files?

A: For full sessions, expect between 20-50 photographs.   I take out all the duplicates, blurry, or blinking shots, and leave you with the most beautiful batch of photos. You'll be smitten with your photos, at least I truly hope you will be.

Q: When will I receive my photos?

A.  You'll receive your photos within 2-3 weeks after our session.  Editing hundreds of photographs takes time and I know you wouldn't want me to rush this process.

Q: How do I book you?

A: Booking can be done via e-mail or a phone call and is very simple. I shoot 2-3 days a week and have roughly 2-4 openings each day.

Q: Where can I view your pricing?

A: You can view pricing right here on my photography blog.

Q: What can I expect from my session?

A: Anything! I might ask you to roll up your pants and walk along the water, snuggle your loved ones in a field of tall grasses or "pretend like you love each other".  I aim to personalize each session. If I feel as though you're not feeling comfortable we'll try something else out. I want to capture memories for you that will last a lifetime. Our loved ones won't always be around but photographs of them are something we will treasure forever. A great photograph will not just capture a pretty smile, but an incredible moment in time filled with raw emotion. You may not want to be photographed as a parent and you may only want your children in the frame for one reason or another. But I truly hope you will allow me to photograph the entire family. Your children, when they grow into adulthood will enjoy looking back at photo's of everyone smooshed into the photo. And you will be thankful for them too.

Q: What should I wear?

A: Wear whatever makes you YOU. I have several "what to wear" posts on the blog for inspiration. But ultimately be comfortable. You're the star of the session... not your shirt. If your child has a favorite lovie, bring it along. That photograph will be treasured by your child when they reach adulthood.

Finally, my passion is telling your story. I love chasing a fleeting moment and capturing artistic portraits, all with a flair for detail and an eye for unexpected beauty. Your story is lovely to me, and I work to cover you and your family with my whole heart. I'm a sucker for full blown out love and I aim to capture this in all of my sessions. I want us all to walk away from this experience feeling happy about what we've accomplished.
